SISG Tesla Coil Waveforms

This is a coarse look at the SISG Waveform. These were recorded after I increased the transformer impedence and doubled the tank capacitor from 38 to 76 nF. Note that the SISG fires at between 8.3 and 8.4 mS. This is a break rate of 120 BPS. Since the charging current is rectified, but not filtered, it has a frequency of 120 hz. Thus the SISG break rate matches the charging frequency when the tank capacitor and power supply impedence are properly matched. The time range per horizontal division is shown in the center at the bottom of each distribution.

Theses waveforms provide a finer look at the SISG operation. First notch is clearly around 40 us after firing. Second notch around 80 to 90 uS. Full decay is predicted to be at about 180 uS, but the waveforms are not clear enough to confirm it. The period for each cycle is 6 uS which corresponds to a resonant frequency of 167 kHz.
