This torch effect was created by adjusting the frequency of the power supply to just ionize the Krypton. Operating frequency is slightly below 60kHz. The pictures were shot with a Canon Rebel Xsi at an ISO speed of 800.
The following series of pictures was taken with increasing shutter speeds. The shutter speed for the first picture was 1/8 second. The final picture shutter speed was 8 seconds.
